Predictability is the cornerstone of being a stay-at-home-dad. I know roughly when Timmy will wake up, eat his bottles and meals, take his naps, want to play and everything else. When this schedule gets disrupted, usually it's not with positive results.
This brings us to today. Timmy's 5:00 wakeup call was a bit earlier than what could be considered normal. I managed to get him back to sleep after a bottle, but now it's 7:30 and Timmy's shown no signs of waking up. When he does wake up, does he get another bottle? Or do I wait a bit longer and feed him breakfast? And do I give him a nap a couple hours after waking up? This changes things, too, because that means he'd get a nap around 10:00- Assuming he sleeps for an hour, he'd get a second nap today at 3:30 or 4:00- far too late.
This would've been much easier if he hadn't woken up at 5.

1:05 p.m. update: Well, Timmy has started to eat leather belts. At first I thought it was the natural result of skimping on the beef jerkey budget, but then I relized it was a sign of solidarity for his cousin, Katie, who sees the allergist today. Translation: "Until that allergist says you can eat whatever you want, I'm going to eat a leather belt!"
Also, Timmy now seems to not like walking around while having his hands held. We tried it today and he took a few steps, but then stopped, let go of my hands, leaned back against my knees and cried. It was suggested that it might be because of the blisters on his toes, but currently Timmy's zooming around in his walker happy as a pig in slop.
