Well, it looks like his little bout of "cookie" speech yesterday connected some neurons in the ol' noodle and started an avalanche of learning. Today, out of the blue, Timmy started walking. He had been "walking" before, but he needed quite a bit of help and coaxing, and he would never go for more than, say, 20 feet, if it was a flat surface and straight line. Today, however, Timmy pulled himself up against the cabinet and walked to the oven. Then, he walked out the kitchen door, around the corner, and over to the stroller. Then he tried to go down the step into the foyer. Since then, he's been walking very well. He still hugs the furniture when it'll get him where he wants to go, but he routinely lets go to grab things and walk to other pieces of furniture, now.
In addition to the walking, Timmy is learning a lot of "hard" lessons this week. Yesterday, he learned about the laws of gravity as he feel on his head off the rocking chair (hmm.. maybe this is what shook things up). Today, he learned about the laws of magnitism as he opened the magnetically-closed cabinet door and bonked himself in the jaw. I predict he'll be splitting atoms by Friday afternoon.
No new words. As a matter of fact, cookie is still a little shaky. We tried it again this morning after breakfast, but he got frustrated and ended up throwing a fit in the high chair for five minutes. Once he calmed down, he got his cookie, but didn't start with the "chhk-chhk" until later on in the morning.
