Update: At around 2:00pm our neighbor's son and his girlfriend came over and told us there is a parade in Bad Kissingen in a half hour, and through some words and physical expression that is was worth going to.

"Wow," was Tim's repeated term of choice for the event. We sat down on the curb, munching on a Kissinger-style bratwurst (those of you who've been here before are well aware that towns and regions have their own unique style of bratwurst). The entire parade seemed to be focused on he history and culture of the city. Everyone was dressed in various period costumes, even the multiple bands, soldiers, and people on the many floats (which were all horse-drawn). They threw candy (Tim's favorite part), handed out bread from baskets on poles, and gave out samples of wine and beer. Timmy's favorite costume was a group who came down the street on stilts in long, colorful gowns waving long sticks with flowing fabric. He pointed out weach color and kept saying "wow." It was the best parade Momma's ever seen, and may have been Tim's first parade ever - unless someone in the family has taken him to one before?

Unfortunately, Momma forgot the camera.

Another lazy Sunday. Timmy napped and played while Momma cleaned the house. We took an outing into Schweinfurt to go grocery shopping at the Commissary. Cleaned up, stocked up, and ready for the new week.

Gretta's expression is worth a thousand words.
What could she be thinking?
"Com'n kid, open the door."
"You little Tail Yanker!"
"I've got a dead mouse here and I know how to use it."
"Diapers are gross! Learn to use the litterbox."
What could Tim be thinking?
"Wow."
"Cats are cool, but I'd rather have a bird, a horse, three llamas, and four dogs." (Grandma's gotcha covered, Tim)

It was the Rakoczy-Fest. On the Bad Kissingen City website there are pictures of the fest, and maybe it will be updated with parade pictures in the next week or so.
