We started off this morning with a walk in the woods. On the way there, we came across a herd of tortoises crossing the road. We stopped to pick one up, discovering that they were the hinge-shelled tortoises. When Timmy got his hands on the tortois he was so excited, but the tortois was all closed up inside his shell. Timmy was frustrated and tried to use his fingers to pry open the shell to see the tortois. Momma told his to just hold still and the tortois whill eventually come out on his own and that you can't make him come out. Soon enough Timmy lost interest in the closed up shell and let it rest on his lap. About that time, the tortoise decided that Timmy was no threat and came out all at once. Timmy freaked.

No one was hurt - except Timmy's pride. We went on a hike. Timmy opted for the jogging stroller over the green backpack. This almost seems like a milestone. Timmy has outgrown his green backpack.

He has also outgrown flowers. This flower - and each one after it - was on the ground only a few seconds after it was handed to him. The boy prefers sticks and rocks now.

After the hike and Timmy's nap, we went to see How to Train Your Dragon for the second time in the theater. He did pretty well. Afterwards, Timmy played on the porch, climbing on the furniture, chasing the bobtail cat, and getting more fresh air.

Daddy should be here in three days!!!

Giipa and I were swimming in the pond this evening and a turtle kept following us around. At first I thought, "Tim will love seeing the turtles," but on second thought, maybe I shouldn't mention the turtles or we'll never get him in the pond. The picture is hilarious!
