Tim was woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. And a certain dog is primarily to blame.
Last night was Mommy and Daddy's date night, and Timmy spent a few hours at Ms. Courtney's house. We didn't get Timmy home until 10:30 or so, and he hadn't yet gone to sleep. This was good, I thought, because it meant he'd sleep in in the morning.
This morning, about 5 minutes after Mommy left for work (very early in the morning), I heard a THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP. At first, I thought it was someone knocking on the door. Then I realized it was the dog. Sophie had decided to sit down in front of Timmy's door and scratch behind her ear. Every sctratch thumped her foot into the door. Of course, a minute later, Timmy was trying to get out of his room, awake as can be.
For Timmy, it's always an ordeal because his doorknob is difficult to operate and he can't quite do it by himself yet. So after he tries, he generally throws a fit about it for a minute or two.
Now, all morning Timmy has been asking to go outside. It rained last night, so it's very wet out there. Eventually, I acquiesed and let him play in the puddles (the picture), but it didn't do much for his mood. By 9:30, he had been on time-out twice, had wet his pullups once (another tragic occurrence) and was on the road to some alone time in his room. After being told he'd be sitting in his room by himself if he didn't calm down, Timmy let out a shocker, "I need a nap".
Now, 5 minutes later, he's down for a nap. At 9:35. I think this will probably be a 2-nap day, because I don't see how he'll go all afternoon from ~11:00 until 7 tonight without one.

"I need a nap" classic!

Ella normally says through a whiny voice "I'm not tired, I don't need a nap"... at least Tim knows better
