We had breakfast at a local greasy spoon restaurant. Timmy had his usual scrambled eggs, sausage, jellied toast, and milk. He was quite a hit with the older locals.
Then he went to daycare, where they are talking about bugs all week. In preparation for this, Timmy is supposed to bring in a bug. Instead, Momma draws a new bug on his hand every morning. Timmy picks out the type and colors. This morning it was a green and purple millipede. He also wore his Star Wars shirt, proclaiming "Daddy and Momma like Star Wars," and crying when Momma tried to cover the shirt with a jacket.
After daycare, we went on post for a 2.5 mile hike. Timmy rode in the green backpack, carried by Momma. We talked about curves in the trail, butterflies, bridges, and the trees. Timmy carried a caterpillar on the back of his hand for a mile before letting it go on a tree trunk. We also got to see bulldozers and backhoes up close and in full operation.
Timmy then went to the babysitter's house while Momma went to class. Timmy scored a banana, which he brought home. Timmy went to bed willingly tonight, although it was over an hour past his bedtime and he was pooped after a fun and eventful day. However, he did insist on wearing socks to bed because "I like socks. Daddy likes socks." (Daddy always wears socks to bed.)

Do I have permission to get Tim a sandbox with trucks and bulldozers for his birthday?
