7:53 a.m.: We're trying no-pacifier again. This could be very difficult today. Timmy's acid reflux this morning was the worst I had ever seen it. Either the medicine hasn't kicked in yet or I'm going to have to take him back to the doctor. I'm hoping for the former. Nonetheless, Timmy's first nap is not going well. I put him down a couple of minutes ago and he started screaming as soon as his head hit the mattress. I know he's tired because he's grumpy no matter what we're doing, but I don't know if he'll get to sleep.
8:06 a.m.: Not a good start. I went up there to check on him to find he had wet and crapped himself in the process of screaming his head off. I replaced his diaper and set him back in the crib, and he has now proceeded to continue his crying.
8:13 a.m.: Timmy's crying has become intermittant. I hope this is a good sign, but when he has stopped crying for a few minutes at a stretch, I'll go up and check on him. (I'll bring the camera this time).
8:06 a.m.: Not a good start. I went up there to check on him to find he had wet and crapped himself in the process of screaming his head off. I replaced his diaper and set him back in the crib, and he has now proceeded to continue his crying.

8:19 a.m.: He's finally asleep. I hope all the pain and suffering he's going through is worth it to get him comfortable without a pacifier.
10:08 a.m.: A 10:00 wakeup- 90 minute nap again. Despite all the difficulty in getting to sleep without a pacifier, Timmy wakes up in a much better mood now than he used to. Not a bad trade-off.
1:35 p.m.: Nap number two- and it's starting out like all the other ones. In theory, this one should go similarly to yesterday's second nap...
1:45 p.m.: Two minutes! It only took two minutes of crying before Timmy fell asleep. Whether it's because he was very tired already or because he's getting used to not having a pacifier, I don't know, but I'll take it!
6:30 p.m.: Round Three- Bedtime. This one didn't go so hot last night, so I'm not expecting anything easy tonight. Timmy's crying pretty hard, too. I'm not sure why bedtime is the hardest sell of the day- By this time, he's been awake longer than at any other naptime. He also ate quite a bit of dinner about an hour ago, plus a 4oz bottle right before bed.
8:54 p.m.: Another failure tonight- this one complete. After a solid hour of crying and trying to rock Timmy to sleep and being unsuccessful, I had to resort to the pacifier. We'll try again tomorrow.
